House insurance (Turks and Caicos Islands)
Let me give you a general idea of what to expect when insuring your house in the Turks and Caicos. You can expect to pay at least 1% of the value of the home for insurance, without the contents. The home can be valued based on a calculation of $200 per sq feet in the event that you do not have an appraisal. Most companies prefer that you have an appraisal completed by one of our accredited companies such as Construction Advisory Services or BCQS to name a few. If the contents are insured as well, this will put the value of your insurance up a bit depending again on the value of the contents.
Three of our insurance companies and their web addresses are:
- The Insurance Centre: http://www.insurancecentretci.com/home.html
- NW Hamilton Insurance: http://www.nwhamilton.tc/index.php
- United Reliance: http://www.unitedrelianceint.com/
We do have other insurance companies worth noting in the islands, but I am sure you can get an idea of your home insurance cost from the above three links.
