Town home Living in the Turks and Caicos

Think about a town home as a line between a Single Family home and a Condo. Town home living gives you the best of both properties. In the Turks and Caicos Islands, many families have chosen to purchase a town home as their permanent place of residence, while the lesser majority have chosen this kind of real property as a rental investment.

I will share a handful of advantages that makes a town home desirable.

  • Town homes gives you the feeling of living in a home instead of a resort. While at the same time you can have access to amenities; these amenities will vary depending on the size of the town home development.
  • Even though you are sharing a physical wall with neighbours on both sides, this makes it easier to develop a sense of community. Many families want to live in a home style property while still belonging to a community, a town home gives that opportunity.
  • You pay less Home Owners Association (HOA) fees based on the square foot of the town home. Hence, making a town home more ideal as a full time residence and a better fit for long term tenant arrangements.
  • One of the great things about owning a town home is that you typically get some yard in the front and back, but don’t have to maintain it. Most town home HOA’s take care of external issues – like landscaping. That’s something you certainly don’t get when you own a single-family house.
